How will Dr. Contact Lens affect our current contact lens process?
On average, it is a 28-step process when you ship lenses back to your office for patients to pick up. If you have already adopted the direct-ship-to-patient model you are on the right track by eliminating a few of the steps.
Our process, however, cuts down on even more steps. Specifically, we make ordering and reordering contact lenses for your patients a revenue generating part of your practice by eliminating double date entry. We do this by sending automatic reorder reminders to your patients when they are due to reorder or due to make an appointment.
We also cut down on the time staff spends on the phone with patients who call for copies of their Rxs or simply want to reorder.
Most offices will transition to this process within 1-3 weeks. Don’t worry. We are with you every step of the way. This process has been perfected over five years and has been replicated in 100s of offices across the country.
Trust the process. Your staff and patients will thank you. And you’ll thank yourself.
How hard is it for our staff to learn how to use the software?
Our software was built with both the patient and the staff in mind so anyone in the office can learn it easily. Our experienced onboarding team is there to guide you from start to finish and beyond. Our onboarding process includes one in depth virtual training along with follow-up easy-to-watch videos and ongoing support.
When you have a new teammate who needs training, it’s no problem. Make an appointment with one of our onboarding specialists and we will train them for you.
Anything worth doing is going to take a little frontend work, but this will be one process that you will never have to worry about again.
Is your software integrated with our PMS/EMR?
It is our goal to be integrated with as many EMR systems as possible. If yours is not integrated, you can still use and be very successful with our platform. Some of our most successful users are using our unintegrated platform. If we are not integrated with your EMR please reach out to your EMR and request they integrate with Dr. Contact Lens. It takes all of us to push our EMRs to be better.
If you have an integration question, please reach us at [email protected] as we would be happy to discuss your EMR and ways to integrate.
Will our patients receive free shipping?
Yes. Every patient who orders through Dr. Contact Lens gets free shipping. This is what patients have come to expect. And lack of free shipping is the number one reason people abandon carts online.
Worried about how this works? Please contact us at [email protected] so we can show you the benefits of free shipping for patients.
When are our patients’ Rx uploaded to the Dr. Contact Lens software?
On average, Dr. Contact Lens looks for new contact lens prescriptions every 10-20 minutes to update to your Dr. Contact Lens Platform. We are always improving this functionality, and the frequency often depends on your EMR. Please contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions.
How do I use your dashboards to plan for future revenue?
Ever wonder where all of your contact lens patients are in their wear cycle? With Dr. Contact Lens you can see who never ordered from you, who is due to reorder from you, and who is due to come back and see you. Unlike other platforms, you are able to see those patients and remind them to take action for their eye health. Also, there is no need to carry contact lens inventories since everything is shipped the moment it is ordered. We also help cut down on time-consuming returns.
Does your software alert my patients when it’s time for a refill?
Yes. Fifteen days before their reorder date, a patient receives a text message and email reminder to reorder their contact lenses. We remind them three times, and then they are not reminded again. You are able to trigger more reminders if you would like, and many successful practices call patients as well.
It is your patient’s eye health, and we give you the tools necessary to see these patients and keep their eye health front and center through their Rx.
Once the patient’s prescription is expired we trigger an email and text message reminder letting them know their contact lens prescription is expired and that it is time for them to make an appointment which is directly connected to your online appointment scheduler, appointment request vendor or your telephone number.
How is your software different from the “free” contact lens ordering platforms other companies are offering?
We all know the saying that nothing is free in life. The same goes for these other platforms. We are up front with our costs for data storage, future development and customer support. You deserve the very best which is why we charge for our service. In our community everyone has value including you, your patients, your staff, and our staff.
How much does Dr. Contact Lens cost?
Our software and process start with a onetime onboarding fee of $999 and a monthly fee of $299/month. Before you say, “Wow! That is a lot!” consider this. Most offices that we onboard pay for that fee in the first month of use when they follow our process.
What do you have to lose? Another patient worth $300 dollars is walking out of your office every day you do not use the Dr. Contact Lens system.
